Taking inspiration from the work of the great artist ‘Gustav Klimt’ Voyage has created a collection evocative of the wonderfully rich and detailed paintings of Klimt using a variety of textures and fabrics.
Hand appliqué techniques using gold metallic thread, evocative of the opulent gold paint Klimt used, have been used to to apply velvets to a variety of sumptuously coloured bases, rich chocolate brown, luxurious gold and precious silver. ‘Gustav’ has a climbing tree design with a scattering of the rich velvets across the fabric whilst ‘Klimt’ uses simple squares, again using gold metallic thread and the jewel like velvets, to create a modern design which has the same feeling of abstract space as Klimt’s paintings. Both designs also come with an organdy base giving the designs lots of different scope within an interior. ‘Ikat’ is an exquisite sheer silk using a rainbow of colours printed with a traditional Ikat style design which is printed onto the threads of the fabric before it is fully woven to create a wonderful watercolour effect. A truly unique and fabulous fabric. ‘Kara’ and ‘Treasure’ are both sheer organzas which perfectly complement the whole collection and tap into the current trend for all things metallic. ‘Faberge’ is the pinnacle of the collection, a rich velvet patchwork which encompasses the essence of the whole collection and clarifies that this collection is something to be treasured. All the fabrics are suitable for use as curtains.
